different experience of time, problems of sort and enjoyment.First time was in early 1960’s while in the army. Boarded train in or around Augusta, Georgia and after 5 days got off in seaside, California after going through Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco. This was very much enjoyed as meals were served in dining car, drinks were available in lounge car the glass enclosed dome car was great for viewing scenery and socializing.

Next time was going back to Maine from Fort Ord on leave for Christmas, That was by Greyhound bus both ways. I guess that is when I got the bug to eventually get into traveling by RV. It was a unique experience that I enjoyed also, much different from the train with all it’s comforts. My first encounter with an epileptic seizure happened while eating and a man sitting next to me started stiffening up and shaking some with no control of his actions, I got up and holding him from behind gently lowered him to the floor where dinner personal came around and took over comforting him until ambulance arrived.

After the bus driver got some written verification from the  store manager that there was somebody looking after this person’s welfare we were on the road again.

Next time was again by Greyhound bus when I was discharged from the army. I can’t recall much about this trip except it was in January of 1965 and leaving from Salinas California with temperature in the 60’s and getting off on the east coast with the temperature below zero was a shock although I grew up in those temperature's.

I’m still practicing’

so,I need to gather pictures and maybe dates toput in here
